Cao’s Naval Camp presents the scene of the episode of the Battle of Red Cliffs. It consists of the Camp Gate, Watchtowers, Cao Cao’s Flagship and so on.

This battle is well known in China’s ancient military history for the few overtaking the many and the weak overtaking the strong. In 208 A.D., Cao Cao led a south expedition army of a million, while the allied Sun Quan and Liu Bei forces of 50,000 men sailed upstream to Red Cliffs, where they encountered Cao Cao's troops, who were plagued by fatigue, seasickness and lack of skills of battles fought on waters. The allied forces sent out unmanned fire ships which were carried by the southeastern wind, sped towards Cao Cao’s fleet and set it ablaze. Following the initial victory, the allied forces led a lightly armed force to capitalize on the assault. The northern army was thrown into confusion and was utterly defeated. The post-war period saw Sun Quan’s consolidated rule over the east of the Yangtze River, Liu Bei’s control of the territories of Jingzhou and Yizhou and the emergence of the Three Kingdoms.
